Kalifornia Dream is an animated series that brings to life heartwarming tales of friendship, family values, and exciting ​adventures. Using Joy's extensive knowledge and personal experiences, we provide a unique approach to learning ​that connects with children of all backgrounds.

what is dream academy?

Dream Academy is a fun and engaging new educational series ​designed for kids in kindergarten through first grade. Hosted by ​Kali and her energetic friend, Zylo, each episode turns learning ​into an exciting adventure! From phonics to science, math, social ​studies, and even Spanish lessons and art, Dream Academy brings ​interactive lessons to life with creativity, music, and hands-on ​activities. Plus, each episode comes with activity sheets to ​reinforce the learning experience and keep kids engaged beyond ​the screen. Join Kali and Zylo on their journey to inspire a love of ​learning in every child!

Meet Joy Harris-Bird, the creative force behind Kalifornia Dream, a captivating animated series inspired by her ​popular children's book Dream Big Dreams. As a multi-talented author, creator, and animator, Joy's work stands ​out for its imaginative storytelling and relatable characters, especially for black and brown children. With five ​published children's books under her belt, her ability to weave fun, educational content with empowering ​messages continues to inspire young readers and viewers alike. Joy’s dedication to making every child feel seen ​and heard shines through in all her projects. Her stories and animations foster emotional growth and creativity, ​providing kids with characters they can identify with and learn from. Through her writing, animation, and ​songwriting, Joy nurtures young minds with content designed to educate, uplift, and entertain.

Complementing Joy's talents, Kyle Bird is a dynamic entrepreneur, business consultant, and accomplished music ​producer. His passion for music took root in 2002 when he founded NuWave Productions, where he specialized in ​creating beats and crafting unique sounds. While he later shifted focus to business consulting, his love for music ​remained unwavering. Today, Kyle continues to make his mark as a respected music producer, working under his ​own name and contributing his musical expertise to various projects, including Kalifornia Dream.

Together, Joy and Kyle combine their creative and entrepreneurial talents to craft the mesmerizing world of ​Kalifornia Dream.
